The Goddard Library supports the research and learning goals of the undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff at Clark University.
Our physical and digital collections maintain a record of scholarly inquiry, with journals dating back to the 19th century, items from Jonas Clark’s personal library, and the most cutting-edge research being published today. Our digital collections allow for ease of access and breadth that is curated for the disciplines at Clark and are available 24/7 for all members of the Clark community — whether you are in Worcester or live anywhere around the globe.

Textbook Notice
Only as a rare exception will the library purchase a textbook that does not contribute to our collection beyond its use in a course. A textbook is defined as “a trade book issued in a separate edition specifically for the use of students enrolled in a course of study. The format may be altered to make it more useful, for example, by the addition of study questions and bibliographies at the end of each section or chapter.”

Citation Tools and Help
Citing your sources is a great way to share accurate information, avoid plagiarism, and build on the scholarship of others with similar interests and expertise. While citing your work can seem daunting, the library is here to support you by providing a variety of digital tools to help you correctly format your work, organize your research, and cite sources accurately.
Our research librarians are here to help you every step of the way — in person, by phone, or online through a chat or web consultation.
Format
In addition to citations, style guides offer rules and guidelines for the entire written work. Familiarizing yourself with a required style can make the research process much easier. Our Citation Resources include guides for the most frequently used styles at Clark (APA, MLA, Chicago).
